zach knows my taste well; he knows that i can never dislike a soulful voice. her voice kinda reminds me of a raw version of zooey deschanel’s voice (which is a great thing)! hope you enjoy :)

absolutely in love with this band right now. just grabbed their latest album, ritual union, and about to listen to it before i go to bed. this track has been making rounds across the web, and it’s easy to see why; full of funk and fun…can’t get enough!

caught musiq soulchild in san diego last night. and wow, what a performance. intimate, energetic, and just lots of fun. great balance between personal stories mixed with ballads and tracks that made us just get up and dance. also helped a lot that we were so close to the front! soul music, forever.

the inner nerd in me was initially attracted to CSS because.. well… they’re called CSS. but it really stands for ‘Cansei de Ser Sexy’ which translates to ‘got tired of being sexy’ in portuguese. i love it. their style is a lot of fun, so check out their songs :)

straight to the point: i love Remix Artist Collective (RAC). every single one of their remixes brings a breath of fresh air. they can take a hit single or a dud and make it into a completely new song. the riverfront times put it perfectly:

i’m already a big fan of avicii..even though this kid’s younger than me! born in 1989 and coming from sweden (wesc represent), tim bergling aka avicii is already making big hits. i feel so relaxed when i listen to this track and i can’t wait to hear more from him in the future.

chase and status can get a bit crazy for me sometimes, but their vocals balance it out for me. just listened to end credits, blind faith, and pieces, and i like them all a lot. check them out!

the bloody beetroots were presented as bloody beetroots death crew 77 since they also included drummer edward grinch on set.

i blame the long delay of posts on coachella + the amount of rest required to heal from the awesomeness from the weekend. i was able to catch a lot of the new artists and bands that i blogged about (including foals, hurts, fedde le grand, joe lewis, yelle, and a few others). since i wasn’t able to finish the entire 3 day’s lineup before coachella, i’m going to finish the rest of it now. starting with axwell (who is also part of the dj group, swedish house mafia)
wasn’t able to catch his set since he conflicted with kanye. dope that he closed out the sahara tent though.
